I am Bernardita de Iruarrizaga, an architect, passionate about restoring old homes, and my journey to San Sebastián has been one of the most exciting adventures of my life.
Originally from Chile, I have always felt a special connection to the Basque Country, as I am the granddaughter of Basques. For years, I dreamed of living here, close to the sea, surrounded by mountains, and immersed in the beauty of this unique city. Finally, at the age of 36, I moved to San Sebastián with my husband and our four children to start a new life from scratch.

Moving with a large family to a new country was not easy. From finding a suitable home to adapting to a new culture, it was a challenging process. But this experience gave me a unique perspective that I now apply to my work. I pursued a master’s degree in heritage architecture restoration, further fueling my passion for breathing new life into old buildings.

Today, I specialize in helping foreigners who, like me, come to this city with the dream of transforming an old apartment into their ideal home. I completely understand the concerns and fears of those buying to renovate in a new city, which allows me to guide my clients with empathy and expertise.

My goal has always been to combine design, functionality, and respect for the history of each building, creating spaces that reflect the personality and needs of each client. For me, every project is an opportunity to bring life to a place that will become the heart of a family or a special retreat for someone who decided to invest in this beautiful city.

If you’re considering renovating an apartment in San Sebastián, I would be delighted to support you every step of the way.
